Donate to the West Hants Pride Society
West Hants Pride Society is a non-profit incorporated in Nova Scotia under the Societies Act, Registry ID 4700114. We aim to raise awareness for the LGBTQIA2S+ community in West Hants, Nova Scotia.
Your donation will be used per our by-laws to fulfill our mission statement. Activities to stimulate and foster awareness will include, but will not be limited to: annual parade, community events, marketing and communication regarding events/progress.
West Hants Pride Society will actively engage in fundraising to promote and host events and activities for the LGBTQIA2S+ community and its allies as well as promote education and awareness through activities, events, and online marketing campaigns.
Donate by e-Transfer to the West Hants Pride Society
If you don’t need a tax receipt, you can donate directly to the West Hants Pride Society through an Interac e-Transfer, sent to westhantspride@gmail.com.
As a non-profit organization (Registry ID 4700114), we are not able to issue tax receipts (only registered charities may do this).
We are charged $1.50 in bank fees per e-Transfer we receive, and would appreciate you adding $1.50 on top of your donation to cover banking fees if possible.
Donate through the Rural Community Foundation of Nova Scotia
If you’d like a tax receipt, you can donate through RCFNS.
The Rural Community Foundation of Nova Scotia, a registered charity, has partnered with West Hants Pride Society to reimburse or directly cover expenses related to operating costs through donations made to their fund.
You must select “West Hants Pride Society” as the Fund when donating to direct it towards our operating expenses.
If you’d like to donate by cheque and receive a tax receipt, please email us to arrange a drop-off.

Are donations eligible for a tax receipt?
West Hants Pride Society is a registered non-profit, not a charity. This means we cannot provide you with a tax receipt if you donate to us directly.
If you need a tax receipt, we have partnered with the Rural Community Foundation of Nova Scotia, a registered charity. As a registered charity, The Rural Community Foundation of Nova Scotia’s Fund operates as a flow-through account, meaning Pride organizers can access the funds through invoices or receipts for approved expenses. This model ensures that funds are distributed quickly, efficiently, and in alignment with the community’s needs.
